Problem
A packaging distributor specializing in Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) packaging was supplying a competitor’s VCI packaging film to a customer in the military. However, the customer requested a VCI skin film for an application they were working on. The distributor requested a quote for the skin film from the VCI supplier but was advised “We do not do that.” Even though the packaging distributor exclusively sold the competitor’s VCI, they were unwilling to assist with this request.
Solution
The packaging distributor contacted Heat Seal / AmPak, located in Cleveland, Ohio, to see if they offered or had a resource for VCI skin film. Heat Seal partners with ZERUST®, so they asked a local ZERUST® rep to work with the packaging distributor to find a VCI skin film solution. ZERUST® advised the packaging distributor that they currently have a VCI skin film product (ICT®510-SK VCI Skin Film) that would be a perfect solution for the military application.
ZERUST® ICT®510-SK Film is a polyethylene skin film with proven ZERUST® Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors (VCIs) to give superior corrosion protection to fragile items. A skin package secures an item between an outer plastic film and a rigid material in such a way that the film is vacuum bonded to the substrate. This protects the items in a fixed, organized, and visible position.
